Our Government
Kentucky Lake Mission is organized as a Non-Denominational Church and a Kentucky Corporation.
Congregational:
The Congregation meets every month to act upon the business of the Church. Once each year, the Congregation elects officers for various duties within the Church. These are Trustees, Elders, Deacons, Sunday School Superintendent, Teachers, Librarian, Church Clerk, Treasurer, and others as needed. It is the responsibility of the Congregation to hire the Pastor.
Trustees, Elders, Deacons:
The Trustees are elected every year by the Congregation. They meet every month. There are currently Seven Trustees. They are responsible for many of the expenditures of the Church and working with the Pastor in leading the Church. At the present time, they function as the Elders and Deacons of the Church.
Duties of the Trustees:
- Hold in Trust the Church Property
- Buy, Sell, Mortgage, Lease, and Transfer Property as directed by the Congregaton
- Sign necessary Legal Documents
- Administer the Church Budget and make Financial recommendations to the Congregation
- Elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman
Duties of the Elders and Deacons:
- Oversee the welfare of the Church Members
- Lead in the Christian work of the Church
- Be Spiritual Leader of the Church, assisting in the ordinances of Baptism and Holy Communion
- Assist the Pastor in carry out his duties
Pastor:
The Pastor is responsible for leading the Church to function as a New Testament Church. The Pastor will lead the Congregation, the Organizations, and the Church Staff to perform their tasks. The Pastor is the leader of pastoral ministries and the work of the Trustees, Elders, Deacons, and Staff.
